- QGIS projects published as web map services
- OGC standards: WMS, WFS, WCS and OGC API Features
- the same symbology on the desktop and on the web
- runs on Windows and Linux behind an Apache, IIS or Nginx web server
QGIS Server publishes maps and data directly from QGIS projects. The layers, styles, labels and print layouts you prepare in the desktop application become available as web services with no extra work. The services can be used in web map clients, in other GIS and in our GEOM® product family.
QGIS Server and GEOM®
We manage the look of the web GIS GEOM®Editor through QGIS Server. Instead of dozens of SLD, HTML and XSLT template files, a single QGIS project is enough: it holds the layers, symbology, labels, print layouts and DGN export settings. Changing a style simply means saving the project and refreshing the page. Nothing needs to be deployed or copied.
- the full range of QGIS symbology, including multi-layer symbols and fills
- print layouts for network statements, publishing and internal outputs
- DGN export sets for designers
- existing ArcGIS projects are converted in bulk with a plugin; only exceptions are fine-tuned by hand
- you can also edit the symbology and print layouts yourself, in QGIS
We use the same approach for the mobile GIS GEOM®Smart and for quick publishing of web maps in GEOM®Lite.
What we do for you
- architecture design and server sizing
- installation and configuration of QGIS Server and the web server
- preparation of publishing projects and performance optimisation (caching, layer simplification, database indexes)
- access rights for individual services and layers
- connection of the services to web map clients and operations systems
- monitoring and regular updates
Why QGIS Server
QGIS Server is open-source software with no licence fees. Thanks to its support for OGC standards, you are not tied to a single vendor and you can combine the services with other sources, such as data from ČÚZK (Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre).
