GEOM®Lab is a complete software suite for recording drinking water and wastewater sample collection and sampling points in the field on a tablet or phone.

GEOM®Lab is a complete suite of software products for recording drinking water and wastewater sample collection and for recording sampling points in the field using a tablet or a mobile phone.

The GEOM®Lab Mobile app lets you record sampling directly in the field.

Architecture and licensing

  • GEOM®Lab Mobile is installed on the mobile device
  • primary data are kept in the LABSYSTEM system
  • communication and interface functions are provided by GEOM®Smart Server
  • the licence for the company is “unlimited”
  • integration with a technical information system (TIS) and GIS is possible

Using the app

The primary data source is LABSYSTEM (LIMS - laboratory information management system), in which both sampling points and sampling plans, including samples, are created. LABSYSTEM data are passed through an interface to the GEOM®Smart Server application server, which handles communication with the mobile device on which GEOM®Lab Mobile is installed.

The mobile device is used both to fill in the sample attributes and to edit the sampling point details. The data captured are defined according to ČSN ISO 5667.

Besides descriptive and photo documentation, editing a sampling point mainly involves defining it and drawing it on the map. A simple sketch of the sampling point can also be made. The map data include complete GIS data of the operated networks, available directly on the tablet. In addition, the sampler can search for a sampling point and find it using simple navigation (direction and distance).
